Encoders
GREATECS offers a wide range of encoders. Incremental encoders are also known as rotary encoders. A total of 7 different series are available for customers to choose from. The encoders are available in both THT and SMT versions. Numerous waterproof models are also available, as well as innovative illuminated encoders.
An encoder is a sensor that detects rotational movement and converts it into electrical pulses to determine the relative position, speed, and direction of rotation. Unlike an absolute encoder, an incremental encoder does not know its absolute position when powered on; it requires initialization using a reference point (zero pulse). Typical applications include position and speed measurement in automation systems.
